Strange to build a 365 metre high television tower in the middle of a city. It is so unusual that the tower in Berlin is even today the only television tower in such a central position in Europe. The exterior surface of the sphere consists of 140 stainless steel segments, and when the sun shines a large cross appears as a reflection. When the SED communist party was in power, this was jokingly referred to as "God's revenge" because the tower is higher than any church in Berlin.
