Sony Center 2

The Sony Center on Potsdamer Platz is dominated by glass and steel and consists of seven individual buildings. It includes offices, apartments, cinemas, restaurants, the Cinematic Art Museum and the Sony European headquarters. The most striking element is the glass tower block, the tallest building on Potsdamer Platz at 103 metres. In 1996 the "Imperial Room Hotel", which weighs 1300 tonnes, was raised on air cushions in a spectacular feat and shifted by 75 metres. Two walls of the breakfast room remained in their original place, but the ceiling, the floor and the other two walls were cut apart and put together again on the other side
